Day 16

At just 16 days old, a remarkable transformation is taking place as our eyes have finally opened, revealing the world around us for the very first time. This significant milestone marks the beginning of our journey into the vibrant and stimulating environment that awaits us. Each day, we are growing and developing at an impressive pace, successfully hitting our milestones and showcasing our individual personalities. As we start to explore our surroundings, we are beginning to move around with newfound curiosity, which makes capturing these precious moments through photography a bit more challenging than before. The unpredictability of our movements adds an element of excitement, as we wiggle and squirm, making it a delightful yet tricky endeavor for anyone trying to snap the perfect picture. 😁 Our little wobbly legs, which were once weak and uncoordinated, are now gradually building strength and muscle. With each attempt to stand and take those first tentative steps, we are learning the art of balance and coordination. The determination in our efforts is truly inspiring; we may stumble and fall, but we are undeterred, eager to rise again and continue our quest for mobility. Each little wobble is a testament to our growing confidence and resilience, and soon we will be able to walk without the fear of toppling over. This phase of our development is not just about physical growth; it is also a time filled with exploration, learning, and the joy of discovering our capabilities. The journey ahead is filled with promise and excitement, and we can't wait to see what adventures await us as we continue to grow and thrive.

3 weeks old

At 3 weeks old, the puppies undergo their first worming treatment, which is a crucial step in their early health care. This initial deworming is typically performed to eliminate any intestinal parasites that may have been transmitted from their mother during pregnancy or through her milk. The presence of these parasites can lead to various health issues, including malnutrition, stunted growth, and gastrointestinal distress. Therefore, deworming at this young age is essential for ensuring that the puppies start their lives on a healthy note.

The process involves administering a veterinarian-recommended deworming medication, which is usually in liquid form or as a chewable tablet. The dosage is carefully calculated based on the puppies' weight to ensure effectiveness while minimizing any potential side effects. It is common for breeders and veterinarians to follow a specific deworming schedule that includes multiple treatments in the first few months of the puppies' lives, as some parasites have life cycles that necessitate repeat treatments to fully eradicate them.

In addition to the physical benefits, this early intervention also sets the stage for a routine of regular veterinary care. It is an opportunity for the breeder or new puppy owner to establish a relationship with a veterinarian, who can provide guidance on vaccination schedules, nutrition, and overall puppy care. This first worming treatment is often accompanied by a general health check to monitor the puppies' growth and development, ensuring that they are thriving in their new environment.

Overall, the first worming at 3 weeks old is a vital milestone in a puppy's journey, marking the beginning of their health management and laying the foundation for a healthy and happy life ahead.
